Awards received by TREC STEP
World Bank Development Marketplace Award 2008 and Grant of US$ 2, 00,000, for developing a unique refrigeration unit, using the latest refrigeration technology, for the access of Small Vegetable farmers.

TREC-STEP has won an award, in an EU Project at Lyon, France, 2008 as the Best Success Story in Business Boosting Services and Soft-landing of Small Innovative Firms, in a contest organized by EUROFFICE Project in which 80 Science Parks, primarily from Europe and the rest of world, including TREC-STEP, have partnered for creating a set of new venture incubation practices in globalization.

Mr. R. M. P. Jawahar, Executive Director, TREC-STEP has been awarded “The International Champion of Business Incubation”, for the year 2006, from United Kingdom Business Incubation (UKBI), as its first ever recipient.

TREC-STEP won the 'Best Innovation Award 2002', by the Indian Railway Board, for converting the historic steam locomotive of the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, from coal firing system to an oil firing one.

TREC-STEP received 'the Best Performing STEP Award 2001' from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Dr. M. Arumugam, Former Principal, REC, Trichy and Mr. R.M.P. Jawahar, Executive Director, TREC-STEP, received the “Best STEP Award” for the year 2001 from the former Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, Mr. K.C. Pant, on 11th May, 2002.

Awards received by Incubatee / Graduated Companies
TREC-STEP's young innovators Ms. Hamsa Nandhini and Ms. Bhuja have been awarded the Second Prize for their 'New Safe Geometrical Instrument', in the India Innovation Pioneers Challenge 2007-08.

Mr. N. C. V Harish Rangacharya, a TREC-STEP promoted entrepreneur, has been awarded 'The Bharti Entrepreneur of the Year 2004' by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad.
Adhithiya Medical Systems received ISBA 2008 award under Bio Technology & Life Sciences Domain.

Biramha Machine Tools received ISBA 2008 award under Material Science & Manufacturing Domain.
