Established in 2005, the Life Science Incubator (LSI) which is structured as an independent centre within ICICI Knowledge Park (IKP), was the joint recipient of the Best TBI award from DST for the year 2007. LSI has incubated 9 firms of which 3 have graduated successfully. While 2 incubatee companies of LSI have also received SEED fund support of Rs.70 lacs. The incubator focuses on ventures in the Life Sciences domain, viz Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, and Diagnostics. 

ICICI Knowledge Park, the host institution for LSI, is registered as a Section 25 Company and nestles in a 200-acre pollution free zone in Genome Valley, Hyderabad. The master plan of the Park mirrors its objective of nurturing an environment for innovation and the expected growth in life sciences and related fields. It has a mix of ready-to-use multi-tenanted modular wet laboratory blocks (Innovation Corridors) with in-built flexibility around some common, shared facilities and support services, as well as developed land for customized R&D facilities.  Currently, the 140,000 sq ft. Innovation Corridor 1 with 84,000 sq ft of wet laboratory space is operational. Around 35 acres of land has been developed with utilities for customized R&D centers. IKP provides a range of support services to the resident companies to create a congenial stress-free environment and ensure customer delight.
In addition to complete infrastructural support, IKP also provides administrative support services including speedy customs clearance, environmental clearances, legal/ patent counseling, assistance in getting venture funding, S&T advisory services, liasoning with government departments, secretarial services etc. Some key analytical facilities like a 300 MHz NMR, LCMS, HPLC, GC, FTIR and Polarimeter are available at IKP.

LSI has created state-of-the-art ready to use laboratories within the innovation eco-system of ICICI Knowledge Park so that start-up company can start its R&D activities right from day one. The facilities are provided at subsidized rates with flexible pay out structure thus the initial investment requirement of start-up company decreases significantly as far as time and funds are concerned. One of the graduates Laurus Labs struck strategic partnership with Aptuit Inc. for USD 100 Million and a joint venture company was formed called Aptuit Laurus Pvt. Ltd. All the investment of Aptuit in Asia Pacific is happening through Aptuit Laurus. They have constructed their own facility at IKP and created 685 Scientist level and more than 100 support level jobs.
