A newly established incubator, Amrita TBI was founded a year ago and is currently incubating 4 companies. It focuses on incubating ventures in the Information Technology (IT), Electronics & Instrumentation domains.

Amrita TBI is hosted in the Amritapuri Campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, which also hosts four Schools: Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita School of Arts & Science, Amrita School of Biotechnology and Amrita School of Ayurveda. The campus is spread across 80 acres of land in one of the most beautiful and picturesque locales of Kerala coastal line. A panoramic view from the campus greets a person with an endless stretch of coconut palm-groves for miles together. Arabian Sea that borders Kerala on the west is only a few hundred meters from the campus. The Engineering College in Amritapuri Campus was established in 2002 when it was affiliated to Kerala University and was known as Amrita Institute of Technology and Science (AITEC).

Amrita TBI is an initiative of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, to accelerate successful development of business by grooming young and dynamic entrepreneurs. Amrita TBI aims at converting innovative ideas into products and help to ultimately transform into a venture capital funded company. Amrita TBI helps entrepreneurs by providing space, guide lines in business plan and brochures preparations, marketing, patenting, IP protection etc.
