The TBI has been set up within the Institute of Technology,  Banaras Hindu University Campus, Varanasi to create jobs, commercialize new technologies and strengthen regional & national economies through incubation. The main focus areas of the incubator are Biotechnology, Food Technology, Agricultural & Allied Services and Information Technology. IT –BHU derives its strength from its well qualified faculty and background in research & development, which would also be of immense help to the TBI.

Malyaviya's Centre for Incubation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship(MCIIE), is an autonomous Society, situated at Institute of Technology, a premier Institution producing graduate engineers with sound scientific and technological background and conducts advanced research in Engineering and Technology  with a predefined mandate of Creating Entrepreneurship and Incubation of Technologies with the objective of translation of technologies towards commercialization.
