EKTA Incubation Centre has been set up in Kolkata to emerge as one of the leading Technology Business Incubation Centre in Eastern India and to identify the incubatees, technologies, markets and necessary seed capital for the entrepreneurs to flourish in a reasonable time.

The centre is housed within the campus of West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) which has been set up on Public Private Partnership basis under the Chairmanship of Governor of West Bengal at the beginning of this century.

Under its fold there are 106 Technical Colleges, most of whom provide 4-year undergraduate courses in Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Instrumentation. WBUT in its establishment at Salt Lake City provides Post Graduate Research on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Management Studies and Information Technology, as well.

The centre targets to incubate at least 12 entrepreneurs and develop around 8 new technologies every year and hopes to establish MOU’s with research institutions in India and abroad.
