Dr. Akhilesh Mishra possesses an excellent understanding
of nanomaterials, their physical and chemical properties,
characterization techniques and data analysis. After
completing his M.Sc. in Physics in 2000, he joined the
Laser & Spectroscopy Laboratory, Department of Physics,
University of Allahabad, as a Research Assistant in
a DST sponsored project. In 2004, after qualifying the
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), he joined
Materials Science Centre, Indian Institute of Technology,
Kharagpur as a Junior Research Fellow (MHRD project).
He also qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) for
Junior/Senior Research Fellowship conducted by the CSIR/UGC
New Delhi. During his Ph.D., he synthesized metal nanoparticles
and used various characterization techniques for their
optical and microstructural analysis. He was a visiting
scientist at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany before
he joined Department of Science and Technology as Scientist
'C'.
Dr. Mishra has published 12
research papers in reputed international journals. He
has published a book chapter (in collaboration with
Prof. H.-J. Fecht, Germany) for the Encylopedia of Nanoscience
and Nanotechnology (2nd edition) edited by H. S. Nalwa
(American Scientific Publishers, New York 2010). Dr.
Mishra have attended several national and international
levels schools/workshops/symposiums and conferences
including the winter college at ICTP Italy (2008), and
conferences at University of Cambridge, UK (2008), and
Florida, USA (2009). He won an opportunity (DST-DFG
award) for participation in the meeting of Nobel laureates
and students (Physics) held during June 29-July 04,
2008 at Lindau, Germany. He won two best poster presentation
awards in an international conference (2005) and the
Humboldt Kolleg (2008). Dr. Mishra is life member of
the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) and American
Ceramics Society.
Currently, Dr. Mishra is working
as team member of Plan & Coordination cell. He is
also involved in work related to Result Framework Document
(RFD). He looks forward to encourage & promote entrepreneurship
skills in latest technologies.
