Dr. Anita Gupta is a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. She has over 15 years of work experience in academic, research and in managing Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India's initiatives on technology based entrepreneurship. She has been actively involved in integrating the entrepreneurship culture in academic environments through promotion of over 50 Technology Business Incubators(TBIs) and Science and Technology Entrepreneur's Parks(STEPs) across the country.

Currently she is overall in charge of Micro Enterprise and Skill Development initiatives. She is also responsible for establishment of new TBIs /STEPs, Business Plan Competitions, forging Public Private Partnerships, Seed support System for start-ups in Incubators which are aimed at strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system in the country. At international level, she has been involved in entrepreneurship and incubation activities in association with the European Union, UNDP, and the World Bank. She has studied innovation eco-system of several countries in Asia, Europe and USA.
